Sustainability - a term requires discipline.
Previously "sustainable management" meant : only consume as much as can be regrown in nature. That was true for the forestry sector. Today it is more. Sustainable economies in 2013 mean: as little use and wear and tear as possible. Produce as little waste and residue as possible and careful material-saving work. This protects the environment and, last but not least, serves the health needs of employees. Such requirements are not standard in facility management by any means. The EU wide standardised management systems are an important help for us. Their certifications and audits help us keep our focus. This pays out in every single job.
Material saving work – that is sustainability for all of us.
